I have listed three websites that are very different from one another with what they have to offer, but all similar in the fact that they provide valuable information on diveristy and multicultural education. National Education Association works to advance public education. Useful information found on their site includes:
Diversity Calender (found under Diversity Resources link) allows to search by month. This will keep the teacher aware of all ethnic/religious events, national holidays, and other important events such as dedicated weeks or months. Examples would be May 7 - 13 is Deaf Awareness Week and April is National Autism Awareness Month.
7 Characteristics of Culturally Responsive Teaching provides stategies for adapting teaching to meet the needs of all students. To locate, type "Diversity Resources" in search box at top and select "Culturally Responsive Teaching." Many other diversity resources can also be found at this location.
Lesson Plans & Activities Search Box (found under Tools and Ideas tab) allows you to search the NEA.org site for lesson plans and activities by grade and subject or the Web which accesses thousands of lesson plans.

Lee & Low Books is an independent publisher of children's books which focuses on diversity. They will help you select books for your classroom and you can submit your ideas for lessons using Lee & Low Books to them via email to share with others.
